  • $55 for a 45-55 minute session
  • $55 for a 45-55 minute WEEKEND Session

In-Person Sessions ONLY (No Online appointments available)

Note: At TNMW, if you are seeing a Masters Level Counselor (Under Supervision), know that we are very selective in our hiring process and work extremely closely with the supervising clinician to ensure their development and the quality of the treatment they deliver. We set the private pay-per-session rates for these counselors significantly lower than our seasoned and licensed therapists. This can mean significant financial savings when looking at the long-term costs of seeking treatment. We have found that many people will opt to see an Intern who is not paneled with their insurance company because the per-session rate can be lower than the copay or cost of counseling using their high-deductible plans.

Why We Don't Take Insurance - And What We Do Instead

When you see that we don't take insurance, your first reaction might be concern about cost. That's completely understandable, and we want to be upfront with you about how this works and why we've made this choice.

Our mission is to help you grow and change in a safe environment where your confidentiality and goals for growth are protected. Counseling can be a vulnerable experience, and aspects of working with insurance companies may undermine the safe environment we fiercely seek to protect. These are the reasons why we do not accept insurance:.

1. You don't need a diagnosis to walk through our door.

To bill insurance, we'd have to give you a formal mental health diagnosis — not because it necessarily fits your situation, but because insurance requires one to process the claim.

That diagnosis becomes part of your permanent medical record. Depending on your career or future plans, it can show up in federal background checks, life insurance applications, and certain professional licensing processes. Pilots, first responders, security clearance applicants — this is something to take seriously.

We believe you shouldn't have to be labeled to get help. Maybe your marriage is in crisis. Maybe you're a parent watching your child struggle and you don't know what to do. Maybe you feel like you've been holding it together for so long that you've forgotten what okay even feels like. None of that requires a diagnosis. It requires a skilled therapist who can actually help — and that's what we offer.

2. What's said in your sessions stays in your sessions.

When insurance is involved, so is a third party. Your diagnosis, your treatment details, your progress notes — all of it can be accessed by the insurance company and the technology platforms they use to manage claims.

We don't share your information with anyone. What happens between you and your therapist stays there.

3. Your therapist decides your treatment. Not a case manager who's never met you.

Insurance companies don't just pay for therapy — they manage it. They can review your records, question whether your treatment is "medically necessary" by their standards, and pressure therapists to change course. This happens even when the therapist believes more sessions are exactly what the client needs.

When you work with us, you and your therapist make those calls together. Need to come twice a week for a season because that's what the healing requires? We do that. Ready to taper off because you've done the hard work and you can feel it? We do that too. The pace and the plan are yours.

How We Help Reduce Therapy Costs.

Therapy is an investment, and you probably want to know what you're looking at before you reach out.

We provide a superbill after each session — a detailed receipt you can submit directly to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Many of our clients get a meaningful portion of their fees back this way.

We'll also check your benefits for you. Before your first session, we can look into your out-of-network mental health coverage so you know exactly what to expect. A lot of people are more covered than they think.

One more thing worth knowing: when therapy actually gets to the root of what's keeping you stuck — rather than just teaching you to manage around it — you often need fewer sessions over time, not more. When you heal the root, you don't need a band-aid every week.

Out of Network Reimbursement:

Our Self-Pay Therapists are not directly paneled with your insurance; However, you may still be able to submit a receipt for partial reimbursement to your insurance company.
