We Take The Guesswork Out Of Finding A Therapist
Research shows the relationship you build with your therapist is one of the strongest predictors of healing. That's why we don't just assign you to whoever has the next opening. We take the time to really understand what your needs and who can best help you meet your goals.
Schedule a brief call below, and a member of our Client Care team will reach out to learn more about what you're going through and what you're hoping to get from therapy. From there, we'll match you with a therapist who fits—and set up a free consultation so you can make sure it feels right before your first session.

A Note About Insurance
We are a private-pay, out-of-network provider. You can learn more about why on our rates page, but the short version is this: we're committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based care that gives you the best possible chance of reaching your mental health goals — without compromising that to meet an insurance company's requirements.
While we don't bill insurance directly, your plan may include out-of-network benefits, which could reimburse you for a portion of your session cost. During our intake process, we're happy to help you find out whether you have out-of-network benefits and what that might look like for you.
Not Ready To Talk Now?
Rather skip the call? That's completely fine — we want this process to feel comfortable for you. Fill out the form below and someone from our team will follow up by email. Getting you matched may take a bit longer this way, but we're happy to make it work.
TN Mental Wellness is out of network with insurance companies, but you may be able to get a significant portion of your care reimbursed through submitting a Superbill to your insurance. Superbills will be provided to you upon request by your therapist.
Want to talk to us right now?
If you're ready to talk now, feel free to call us directly — our Client Care team is available and happy to help. Calls typically run anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes, depending on your questions and how much we need to learn about what you're looking for.
Not quite ready to commit yet? That's okay too. You're welcome to call just to ask a quick question — whether you want to know more about how therapy works, what to expect, or whether your out-of-network insurance benefits might help cover the cost. We're happy to do a quick benefits check right over the phone.
Reach out at 615-510-4551. We answer live whenever we can, and if we miss you, we'll get back to you within 3 business hours.
Frequently Asked Questions About Starting Therapy at Tennessee Mental Wellness
Others frequently ask…-
Our client care team will follow up within one business day. We'll chat about what you're looking for, answer any questions you have, and talk through next steps. If we want to check with a specific therapist about availability or fit before calling you, it may occasionally take a little longer — but we'll be in touch.
If you schedule a call, please have your phone nearby — we'll call within 5 minutes of the scheduled time.
-
Not at all. Reaching out just starts a conversation. Not everyone we talk to ends up starting therapy with us, and that's completely okay. Sometimes we answer questions, sometimes we point people toward a better fit elsewhere, and sometimes people just need to think things over first. There's no pressure.
-
Your first call will be with one of our client care team members, not a therapist. They'll ask about what you're looking for, answer your questions, and help match you with the right clinician. You'll have a chance to connect with that therapist before committing to ongoing sessions.
-
Not at all — most people don't. Our client care team will ask about what you want help with, whether you prefer in-person or virtual sessions, what your schedule looks like, and any other preferences that matter to you. From there, we'll match you with someone who fits.
-
Yes — all are welcome at Tennessee Mental Wellness. Several of our therapists have specific training and experience working with these communities. When you reach out, let our client care team know what's important to you and we'll factor that into your match.
-
We don't have a prescriber on staff. If medication might be part of what's helpful for you, we're happy to refer you to trusted psychiatrists in the area. Your therapist can also coordinate with a prescriber you're already working with, if you'd like that support.
-
We specialize in trauma-informed care, including EMDR and Brainspotting, as well as therapy for anxiety, teens and children, and couples. Our therapists are given the time, training, and support they need to provide high-quality, evidence-based care. If you're looking for a practice that goes deep rather than broad, and you want a therapist genuinely invested in your outcomes, we're likely a good fit.
-
We match based on what you want help with and who on our team specializes in that area. We also take into account scheduling, your preference for in-person or virtual sessions, and anything else you share — like wanting someone with specific training or lived experience in a particular area.
-
It happens, and it's okay. Therapeutic fit really matters, so we'd much rather know than have you quietly stop coming. Just reach back out to our client care team. We'll talk through what didn't feel right and either match you with someone else here or help you find a better fit elsewhere.
-
We're an out-of-network practice, which means we don't bill insurance directly. This allows us the flexibility to provide specialized, unhurried care without the constraints insurance can place on treatment. Many clients receive partial reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits by submitting a Superbill — we can walk you through how that works.
-
We ask new clients to commit to weekly sessions for the first 8 weeks. This isn't about the severity of what you're dealing with — it's about momentum. Consistent early sessions help you and your therapist build the kind of relationship that makes real progress possible. After that initial period, you can revisit frequency together.
-
Both. We have an in-person office in Gallatin, TN, and we offer virtual sessions for clients throughout Tennessee. Many clients — especially busy parents and professionals — find virtual sessions work really well for their lives. We're happy to help you figure out which format makes the most sense for you.
-
Yes. If a phone call feels like too much right now, fill out our contact form and we'll follow up by email. It may take slightly longer than a phone conversation, but we'll work with whatever feels easiest for you.
-
Please reach out for immediate help — our practice isn't set up for crisis response. Call or text 988 (the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline), go to your nearest emergency room, or call 911. Once you're safe and stabilized, we'd be glad to talk with you about ongoing therapy support.
-
For children ages 5–12, we actually ask that a parent come alone to the first session — without the child. This gives your therapist a chance to hear your full picture of what's going on, ask questions openly, and plan the best approach before meeting your child. After that first session, your level of involvement will depend on your child's age and what's most helpful for their treatment.
For teens, parents are typically involved at key points but teens generally attend sessions on their own. Your therapist will walk you through what involvement looks like for your family specifically.
-
No — this is not something we offer at Tennessee Mental Wellness. We don't provide court-ordered therapy, custody evaluations, forensic assessments, or any documentation intended for legal proceedings. If you've been referred to us through the court system or need services tied to a legal matter, we'd encourage you to reach out to a provider who specializes in that area.
-
We don't complete ESA letters or therapy animal documentation at Tennessee Mental Wellness. If you need that kind of form, we recommend visiting a service that specializes in ESA evaluations. A quick search for licensed ESA letter providers online can connect you with someone equipped to help with that specific need.
