Empowering you to transform your life to your full potential

You have asked yourself “Will I always feel this way?”,
“I’ve tried all medications and nothing works.”
“I feel trapped, full of dread , no motivation.. help.”
Seeking help for mental health is difficult, you can’t do it alone, let me help.
Through collaboration, you can have the life you desire.

About Me:

My name is Marilyn Haymaker. I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner.  Through collaboration I diagnose and treat anxiety, depression, OCD, and support those in recovery from substances. This is done through medication, psychoeducation, in a safe and nurturing environment. Providing a safe place to explain and discuss your limitations due to your struggling mental health. My aim is to help you feel your best so you can reach your full potential to have the life you dream of.

My Approach:

Compassionate, Gentle, Effective, Collaborate, Research Supported

I use an integrative approach to help patients improve their mental health through addressing mental, physical and social changes they could make. We address mental well-being through medication management and collaborating with their psychotherapist to ensure mental health progress. We address physical well-being through setting physical wellness goals, such as exercise, mindfulness, and other physical activity. We address social well-being through exploring ways the patient can deepen meaningful social relationships.

I collaborate with patients to create a holistic well-being plan and to achieve overall improvements in their mental health symptoms.

My Story and Background:

I was an RN for 20 years before becoming a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I was exposed to working in mental health in the late nineties and it changed my life. In 2015, I went back to school to further my education so I could be more effective in the mental health field. I graduated from Vanderbilt in 2017 with my Psychiatric Mental HealthNurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and am board certified. I have worked in residential and private practice. My driving passion has been to work with those with substance use diagnosis to assist them in recovery through resources, medication management and supportive groups that will challenge and encourage them to heal.

A Little Fun:

I have been married for 26 years, have 2 grown children. My family is my heart. I believe in God and rely on his guidance daily. I am originally from the mountains of Montana and love the outdoors and early mornings. I value friendships and take opportunities as they come to learn and grow

Final Thoughts

My hope is you will feel heard and part of a collaboration to better your mental health and to reach your full potential in mental wellness.
